Anaergia Advances Biomethane Projects in Spain with New €25 Million Contracts
Anaergia Inc., through its Italian subsidiary Anaergia S.r.l., has commenced work on two new renewable energy projects in Spain following the award of additional contracts valued at approximately C$25 million.
The projects, located in Andújar and Arjona, are being developed in partnership with D.B. Andalucia, a special purpose company active in the Spanish renewable energy sector. They form part of a broader agreement announced in August 2025, under which Anaergia will deliver more than 15 anaerobic digestion facilities across Spain, with a total contract value of around C$184 million.
Both plants will convert waste from olive oil production into renewable biomethane, each processing roughly 100,000 tonnes of olive pomace per year. Construction is expected to be completed within 18 months, supporting Spain’s transition toward cleaner, circular energy solutions.
These projects further strengthen Anaergia’s position as a key technology provider in the European renewable natural gas (RNG) market, while contributing to emissions reduction and the sustainable use of agricultural by-products.
