Anaergia Technologies, LLC, a subsidiary of Anaergia Inc., has signed a contract with PepsiCo Mexico Foods subsidiary Sabritas S. de R.L. de C.V. to deliver an integrated renewable energy solution at one of PepsiCo’s food production facilities in Mexico. This project marks Anaergia’s first reference in the Mexican market and extends its collaboration with PepsiCo to a fourth continent.

This project marks Anaergia’s first reference in the Mexican market and extends its collaboration with PepsiCo to a fourth continent.
Under the agreement, Anaergia Technologies will provide a complete technology package combining high-efficiency anaerobic digestion with integrated biogas conditioning and upgrading systems. The facility is expected to process around 50,000 tons of organic residuals per year and convert them into carbon-negative biomethane.
“North America is now the fourth continent where Anaergia has provided systems to Pepsi facilities,” said Assaf Onn, CEO of Anaergia. “This agreement is our first agreement in Mexico showcasing our ability to leverage our technological expertise to serve industry-leading clients globally.”
The biomethane will be used directly on site, replacing fossil natural gas in the production process. Once operational, the project is anticipated to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by up to 4,000 tons of CO₂ annually, supporting PepsiCo’s global decarbonization and resource-efficiency goals. Commissioning is targeted before the end of 2026.
For PepsiCo Mexico Foods, the project links long-term business resilience with a stronger sustainability profile, demonstrating how circular solutions can deliver both environmental and economic benefits. For Anaergia, the contract showcases the scalability of its integrated waste-to-energy technologies for leading food and beverage manufacturers worldwide.
